BALDO PİRİNÇ
Türkiye’de en popüler pirinç çeşitlerinden biri olan baldo pirinç, kokusuz, renksiz ve hafif bir yapıya sahiptir. Piaşirildiğinde yüksek miktarda su çeker ve tane tane ayrılabilir, bu nedenle pilav ve dolma tariflerinde sıkça kullanılır. Baldo pirincin diğer türlerden farklı olarak daha şişkin bir görünümü vardır ve yüksek karbonhidrat içeriğine sahiptir.
LUNA PİRİNÇ
Luna pirinç, özellikle İtalya’da yetiştirilen ve genellikle risotto gibi yemeklerde kullanılan bir pirinç çeşididir. Luna pirinci, kısa taneli ve yuvarlak bir yapıya sahiptir. Bu pirinç, pişirildiğinde dış kabuğunu yumuşak bir kıvam alırken, iç kısmı hafifçe sert kalır. Risotto tariflerinde tercih edilen luna pirinci, özellikle kremalı ve kıvamlı yapılar elde etmek için idealdir.
OSMANCIK PİRİNÇ
Osmancık pirinci, Trakya Tarımsal Araştırma Enstitüsü’nün Rocco ve Europa pirinçlerini melezlemesi sonucunda 1997 yılında geliştirilmiştir. Adını Çorum’un Osmancık ilçesinden alan bu pirinç çeşidi, tane tane ayrılmasıyla bilinir ve bu özelliği sayesinde baldodan sonra Türkiye’de en çok tercih edilen pirinç türlerinden biri haline gelmiştir. 2012 verilerine göre, Türkiye’nin çeltik ekimlerinin yaklaşık %80’i Osmancık pirincinden oluşmaktadır.
